On Sunday, October 30, National Convenience Distributors’ New England Division attended the Sanskar Culture Society Umiya Dham Boston’s Diwali celebration at the Ambrosia in Foxborough, Massachusetts. In addition to celebrating India’s largest and most important holiday, NCD was honored at the event for serving as one of the organization’s top sponsors. The party welcomed over 1,000 attendees, many of which were NCD customers.

“They gave us honorary sashes and share a speech about what we mean to their community,” said Jim Kantany, NCD’s New England Division’s vice president of field sales. “Steve Peterson, [NCD’s executive vice president of national sales] also gave a very nice speech highlighting the partnership and close relationship between the organization, our customers and NCD, and how thoughtful it was for us to be honored at their Diwali celebration.”

Diwali, or the festival of lights, symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and the human ability to overcome. The meaning and traditions behind Diwali are very much a part of NCD’s mission. NCD aims to be a force of good, servicing and elevating local partners to help them conquer past adversities.

“It was their first celebration since the Covid-19 outbreak, so it was already a tremendous night with food and dancing. But what made it more special was our recognition for our 20-plus-year relationship with these community members,” said Peterson.
